No explicit break-in time, lace em' up and go.A cushioned ride with support, never feel the roll.I purchased size 11.5 Wide of the ASICS Men's Gel-Resolution 8 Tennis Shoes. I usually wear 11.5 athletic shoes in sizes that have wider designs such as Adidas (Nike is too narrow for me generally). The wide version of this shoe fit great! The normal version must be narrow. So glad they make a wider size. The shoe is very supportive with good traction (only worn on hard court) but not heavy or clunky. The build quality is very good. Out of the box the shoe was comfortable and required hardly any break in. This shoe allows me to concentrate on my game and helps with my confidence. I can move around the court quickly and surely... and it soaks up impact, sudden stops, and split steps well too. I think my foot work is improving a bit since getting these. Two thumbs up!I don't have bad feet but most tennis sneakers will hurt my feet if I play 2x week. These sneakers allow me to play as much as I want! Best tennis shoes hands down. They should never discontinue these shoes! One of the few tennis shoes I used where I can play right away .. amazingThe shoe is very supportive and provides good support on the tennis court. The shoe is a little narrow, emphasis on a "little". I prefer the slip on version of the shoe, but it is a minor inconvenience to deal with the tongue of the shoe. Most comfortable shoe I’ve ever played in. I want to trash everything else and just get these in every colorThat coral trim in the picture is true to color. It’s very pink. We bought these for summer court shoes for a 14 yr old. Hoping he trashes them quickly with summer practices because he likes the shoes- hates the color. It’s a small thing though. These shoes are a great pick. I had the lime green ones and they look and feel great. Provides good support foinfbside to side. I wish they were a little lighter so I can accelerate faster. But nothing I can’t train to get faster on!Great prof it and service.I've always been a cheapskate and I'm still a cheapskate for some things, but I basically just play tennis once or twice a week during the spring/summer/fall and I thought, maybe I should splurge and get the good stuff. So, I got me a nice new racquet (or racket, as the Americans say), the Wilson Clash 98. I'll have to review that racquet somewhere else, as this review ain't about that.I also noticed earlier this year that my wonderful Asics Gel Game 6 shoes have developed a hole near my pinky toe on one of them. That's likely to happen to shoes that are about five years old. I could still use them, as they're still quite comfy, and the hole is still quite small, but it's still a hole, and it'll grow the more I use them. Therefore, I decided to be proactive and upgrade now, and bought the most expensive shoes I've ever had, but at a price cheaper than any other store or online retailer. Heck, it's hard to find these anywhere, let alone for a price that's $15 less than anywhere else. Now about the shoes itself... compared to my old Asics Gel Game 6 shoes, these Asics Gel Resolution 8 shoes are very snug. Should I have gotten the wide version? Is there even a wide version? I don't know, but after wearing them for about 30 minutes, they loosened up nicely and became very comfy, to the point where I didn't feel the snugness anymore, and was just focusing on tennis. These shoes are also fairly heavy, as a lot of tennis shoes are, unlike the lightness of running shoes, and this is because they have to be durable, as you literally have to stop on a dime, (or a pinecone, or a leaf, or whatever debris is on the court), in order to pivot and go the other way to make the next shot.I had to knock down a star because of the laces. If I could just knock off half a star, I would. Why would Asics put really thin laces on a nice shoe like this? I don't get it. I'll probably have to switch the laces for the ones I had on my old Gel Game 6 shoes. It's not a big gamebreaker, but it probably would've been a more perfect shoe if it had proper laces. Will these shoes make me a better tennis player? No, probably not, as I still make way too many unforced errors, but at least I don't have to worry about my shoes for the next few years. Some have found the unadjustable thing that wraps around the top of the foot to be a deal breaker. This was the case for me. 5 stars for the vendor accepting my return.I have tried other shoes, but the Gel Resolutions are the best. No break-in time is required. I just wear them and they are really comfortable. As a beginner tennis player these shoes delivered the performance of quick lateral change support at the sides, near the front end of my feet while being surprisingly, extremely comfortable for being brand new shoes. The seller shipped them super fast which i appreciated.I bought size 8.5 which fit perfectly for me which is a slim foot size.
