I'm not sure if Amazon's system will allow me to review this product twice, as I bought two pairs and had two completely different experiences. First, I bought the white model MC996WT2 in size 8.5 2E and they fit perfectly. I normally wear a 4E width, but read a few places that these work well for tennis players with wide feet, so I gave it a shot and love the fit. Finding what I needed (finally!), I immediately returned to Amazon to purchase a second pair, figuring I'd go with a different color combo the second time around. I purchased the green/grey model MC996GG2 in size 8.5 2E expecting they'd fit exactly the same, right? No such luck. Not only did they not fit the same, I couldn't even get my foot into the green/grey pair. I double checked the model number inside the tongue and it was correct. I checked the label on the box for any irregularities and found none. There is no explanation aside from poor New Balance production consistency and quality control in their manufacturing practices. I'm severely disappointed. The knock on this model 996 is its durability, so I wanted that second pair, but alas it appears I'll have to return to the white model and cross fingers the next pair I buy fits the same as the first pair I bought. #WideFeetMatter.UPDATE: I've owned this model since July 6th. The outsole has already worn flat; no tread remaining under the forefoot. Would not recommend this model if you play tennis more than 3x per week. If you do buy it anyway, you'll also need to buy an aftermarket insole insert, because the one included is similar to a thin piece of cardboard.Great look, though not for toe draggers. The toe box also felt smaller than other shoes, if you have wide feet, do not try to fit into a D width shoe, as it will be very uncomfortable. However they are light weight, flexible, and not too expensive. The pros are that they come in many colors, so if you like to color coordinate your tennis outfits, then this is a good brand/model for you.The shoes are too small but my boys and I have been using NB's for about 3 years now and we are used to that. Advice for future buyers: always buy 1 size larger - I am European 45 and with most other brands it is a US 11 or 11.5 but I buy 12 New Balance and they fit perfect. My boys have also gone through 996 and 1296 and the same goes for them - one size larger and it's fine. Quality wise all 3 models deserve 5 star rating as they generally last(ed) about 6-7 months of tennis practice and tournament play. Go NB.I've worn these a couple times to play tennis (indoor and outdoor), and while in the past some shoes have caused blistered the first couple times I wore them, I never had that problem with these. Comfy shoes and I love the look.I had the earlier version of this tennis shoe and they lasted two years. I loved them! But sadly, the 996 V2 is an inferior product. Although the I bought the exact same size (according to New balance) the newer model is actually smaller in the forefoot & narrower, yet my heel slips out of the heel pocket each and every step. I could never play tennis in these. The materials appear to be inferior to the earlier version too. Sending them back and going to a brick & mortar store for something better.I love the shoes. I believe that if I had gotten a size larger I would be happier. I look great! I get a lot of complements when I wear them. The shoe runs small.I use these shoes for racquetball 2-3 times a week for 2 hours at a time. The first time I played with them the first 20 minutes there was some discomfort (must have been the break-in period) but since then they are extremely comfortable. They have excellent grip on the indoor courts; I have not tried them on outside courts, and probably never will. These are excellent shoes for indoors.I have always worn new Balance sneakers and tennis shoes and always a size 13. I ordered a size 13 but this pair was WAY too small. Easily a size smaller. I read a review that said they run small but was skeptical because they always fit me great right out of the box but not these. I ordered a pair of K-Swiss Big Shot Light 3's at the same time just in case. Good thing I did, and I'm gonna keep the K-Swiss. First time trying them but they fit well and look great.
