I went from 3G Ultra to this shoe and it was a sound decision in every way. These are extremely light, comfortable, but sturdy. No vents for circulation but the entire upper is breathable so venting is not necessary (for me).With 3G you can change the pad and, I think, 6 or 7 cleats so you can add/remove slide based on where you actually plant your foot. I am still getting used to the slide because with these shoes you replace the entire pad. No mixing for an almost infinite configurability. But, it's not a huge sacrifice.The other problem with 3G is that I drag my right foot (RH bowler) the toe had to be replaced and even with the best glue, it never worked the same so I went to a sneaker on my right foot. The toe of the right foot on these has one piece of rubber that goes from the sole up the edge so I do not have to worry about the sewed seam eventually wearing away or it separating. This might not make any sense to someone that doesn't drag their non-sliding foot. But to those that do...this is great information and a great shoe.
